My wife had wanted it for a while. I finally got it for PS3. I didn't get it at first, then I started playing along with her, then I played some. We quit for a while.

Somehow her nephew got hooked here, talked about it at school (1st grader) & home, was on his moms phone looking up minecraft videos, finds one where some character in giving oral to the other or something and my sister in law got mad at my wife. So he got cut off for a few weeks. Has nothing to do with her allowing her son all access to the Internet with her smart phone. Her douche boyfriend won't get the game because he doesn't want his 360 controller all sticky from a 5 year old with buggers and whatever else he has on his hands.

Sorry for that. It was fun for a while for us.

Try Space Engineers on Steam. It's Kerbal meets Minecraft. Been sinking some time into it lately and it's been a blast.

Its worth every penny, I watched a guy build a replica titanic only to get rammed by a replica enterprise. You can paste ships from community blueprints if you don't have the time to build your own monster spaceship. The scale is impressive and the community for mods and ships is great. Have fun, you can add it to steam wish list and they'll notify you when it's on sale.

If you're like me, you'll play it until you discover all the new features, and then you'll stop. Minecraft, as a game, loses all appeal to me as soon as I get a "comfortable" life going inside a world.

Been playing since alpha, but I've never played online. Ever. Stopped playing when they added the horses update.
